ELEMENTARY EDUCATION SEMINAR INFORMATION

STANDING OVATIONS, a unique success training and motivational seminar company, has recently expanded its already acclaimed learning experience to include an elementary component. This component will focus on character building and learning skills and will be presented in the same energized and dynamic manner as the original seminars.

Each session will provide an integrated approach to learning through the use of magic, storytelling, puppets, student participation, and reinforcement activities. This curriculum encompasses the recommendations for character education as suggested by the New Century Commission on Education and has been unanimously approved by the Duval County School Board's Health Education Advisory Council (Jacksonville, Florida).

This program is flexible and can incorporate specific target areas suggested by individual classroom teachers (when sufficient notice is given). A school of 30 classrooms can be accommodated in a week.

Streamlined programs have be designed for the schools operating under presently "tight" budget restraints. These experiences are arranged through several larger grade level assemblies.

This new component offers a progressive, grade specific curriculum.

Grade 4	Focus 3	Goal setting ( short range), enthusiasm, energy
Grade 5	Focus 4	Goal setting ( long range ), reliability, loyalty
Grade 6	Critical Thinking	Emotional control/ conflict resolution

* Each student will receive a character building/ learning skills packet
* Each classroom will receive a 45 minute "magical" learning experience
* All sessions (this year) will be presented by E.J. McKnight, certified language arts teacher in the state of Florida
